Optional audience analytics

When you choose “Allow analytics,” NewsTeller records broad page categories, a temporary tab session, referral host and campaign tags, broad device/browser/operating-system categories, and active time. A country code is included only when the request arrives with a country code from the edge provider.

Analytics does not store your IP address, full browser user agent, full URL, search terms, or story identifiers. Story URLs are grouped under one general story page category. Session summaries are automatically deleted after 90 days.

Choose “No thanks” in the notice, or use “Privacy choices” in the footer to change your preference later. Your choice is stored in this browser. If you withdraw permission, new analytics events stop immediately; you can also clear the NewsTeller site data in your browser to remove the saved choice.
